After a two week break we finally got back to league action on Saturday.
I and a lot of other Stags were delighted, because it’s boring when our beloved team aren’t playing.
Getting to the game on Saturday, it felt like we hadn’t played for at least a month, it may have done the players good for the rest but it does my head in if we don’t play.
We ended up with a very well deserved 1-1 draw.
On another day we could of won the game and if the chance that hit the post went in from Krystian Pearce we would be sat here with the three points.
Judging from the game we might well both be near the top of table come the end of season.
In the first 30 minutes Leyton Orient had the better of the game but the rest of the game we were by far the better side.
If it wasn’t for their in-form player of the month who netted their goal, Jay Simpson, then we would have definitely won.
I will say though that if the referee had given a foul to us before they even crossed the ball in for their goal then we would have won anyway.
Once again I’m sat here thinking that the referee was rubbish and they need to be having a look at whoever is in charge of them.
One incident in particular, no matter what minute of the game it is, the challenge at the end of the game when their player took Matt Green out was for me a red card. Gree could have been in for a one-on-one chance with the keeper.
I apologise for going on about the refs but I’m sure they pick the rubbish ones out of a hat and they come to Field Mill every time we play.
Blair Adams was the clear Man of the Match and his superb form since signing on loan continues.
Our gain is Notts Clownty’s huge loss and they must be mad not wanting him there. I really do hope we sign him come January.
If that happens we could even have him at left-back and Benning left midfield.
Reggie Lambe chipped in with another huge goal as well for us.
I’d also like to mention Jamie McGuire who didn’t start the game too great but after that he grew into it and was probably the best player after Adams.
Every team needs a Jamie McGuire and credit to him for that.
To finish my blog this week I’m hoping we can show our intent in January and bring some players in, something is still missing but I can’t put my finger on what that is.
It is really good to be back watching the Stags and now the Christmas football is coming, so we need to grind out the results over this period.
Come on Adam Murray’s barmy army and COYS.
