Concord Rangers, based on Canvey Island, Essex will be travelling up to face Mansfield Town on Saturday in the first round of the FA Cup, but just who are they?
They are smallest side in the Conference South and still on the rise. Managed by Danny Cowley, in his eighth season at the club, he has seen the club advance from the Essex Senior League, to the Conference South, to now making their debut in the FA Cup first round.
With an average of only 250 fans at a home game, a larger-than-average away following are sure to make themselves known on their big day.
Concord are bringing some names to be wary of. Steve Cawley, striker, is a very technical player and scored last weekend against Weston Supermare in a 2-0 victory.
Midfielder Joe Garder, scored the winning goal for Concord in the fourth qualifying round against St Albans.
The Beachboy’s top scorer, Jordon Chiedozie is an ex Bournemouth player and only joined in the summer.
Concord Rangers work hard and shouldn’t be underestimated, or Mansfield will find out just who Concord Rangers are.
