THE latest instalment in the intense rivalry between Hucknall sides, T8’S and PLOUGH BARFLYS, dominates the NOTTS SUNDAY MORNING LEAGUE programme this weekend.

The two Premier Premier Division outfits clash again in a match at the Rolls-Royce Leisure Club (kick-off 10.30 am) sure to attract a big crowd.

And Barflys, now managed by former Hucknall Town midfield maestro John Chamberlain, will be hoping for a change in fortunes. For they have lost the last three league contests between the two clubs.

T8’s edged them out 1-0 in both of last season’s encounters. And back in November, they swept aside the long-standing Plough team 3-1.

Now Reece Jackson’s side need three more points to stretch their unbeaten record in the top flight this season to nine matches and maintain their challenge for the title.

Neither team were in action last weekend -- but elsewhere in the Premier Premier Division, fellow Hucknall outfit GREEN DRAGON suffered their second successive 5-1 defeat at the hands of one of T8’s championship rivals, Gedling Inn.

The previous Sunday, newly-promoted Dragon were dumped out of the league cup. This time Norma Hatfield’s boys were sent packing by goals from Anthony Gregory (2), Ben Middleton, Nick Hawkins and Jamie Walker.

Midfielder Jonny Bernard netted the consolation in what was Gedling’s eighth league win on the trot, shooting them to the top of the table.

Bernard jinked past the defence to score with composure. And in a much-improved Dragon performance that did not reflect the scoreline, man-of-the-match Jack Matthews also hit the bar with a curler, while Matt Lucas had an effort brilliantly saved by Gedlin’s ‘keeper Jamie Johnson.
