The early-season woes of Hucknall side HALF MOON are beginning to mount up as they leaked eight goals for the second week running in the Notts Sunday Morning League.

After losing 8-3 to Clumber in the league cup, Moon were blitzed 8-0 by the league’s defending champions, Gedling Inn, in the Premier Premier Division.

Gedling, who are playing in the FA All-England Sunday Cup this weekend, have lost a few players from 2013/14, but still possessed far more experience than Norma Hatfield’s side, who are rebuilding and gave debuts to Brad Richards, Corey Palin and Paul Wilcox.

On a sticky pitch, Moon started brightly and were unlucky when Danny Taylor’s powerful header rattled the bar. But the rest of the game belonged to Gedling, who netted four goals in each half.

Three were scored by Bulwell duo Jay Knight (2) and Marek Vipond, while ex-Hucknall Town man Dean Gent (3) helped himself to a hat-trick and Terry Guerbaouy was also on the scoresheet,
