The Hucknall Rolls Leisure influence was plain for all to see when AFC H2O returned to winning ways in the Notts Sunday Morning League’s Premier First Division.

For their goals, in a 3-1 victory away to Premium, were shared by Rory Smith and Greg Conn, who ply their trade for Rolls on Saturdays. Jonny Greaves netted the home team’s consolation.

It was only the second league win of the season for AFC, who now sit mid-table, sandwiched between fellow Hucknall outfits, THE EMPIRE and ATHLETICO T8’S.

Empire’s latest match resulted in an excellent away point from a 2-2 draw at second-placed Edwalton. Ross Walker was their hero with both goals. Not only did he give Empire the lead, he also salvaged a point late on after strikes from Chris Moore and Rob McGuigan had edged the home side in front.

In contrast, Athletico slid to their fifth defeat in eight matches -- this time 2-1 away to Stratford Haven. However, considering they started the match with only nine men and quickly went two down, to goals from Frazer Raymond and Sam Alfred, the locals were far from disgraced.

After another player had arrived, Jamie Brown pulled one back, and Athletico ended up giving Stratford an uncomfortable last ten minutes.

Towards the bottom of the Premier First Division table, BARFLYS H2O failed to build on their first win of the campaign the previous week. Entertaining MIS United, Barflys crashed to a 4-0 defeat after goals from Gregg Ellis, Michael Browning, Jason Frost and Sam Smith.

Elsewhere in the same division, Hucknall Town striker Aaron Evans was on target for Top Valley United in a 2-2 draw at Robin Hood.

Meanwhile in Senior Division Two, the big local derby between BESTWOOD MINERS WELFARE and THE NABB INN was postponed.
