Two Hucknall teams are preparing bids to reach the last 16 of the Notts FA Saturday Senior Cup, which is the most prestigious non-league competition in the county.
A couple of opening rounds determine the six sides who go through to the Third Round to rub shoulders with the elite top ten clubs in Nottinghamshire. And both HUCKNALL TOWN and HUCKNALL ROLLS LEISURE are on the verge of making it.
Town play next Wednesday night, away to Kimberley Miners Welfare, who are regarded as one of the most progressive clubs in the county. Kimberley gained promotion from the Notts Senior League (NSL) to the Premier Division of the East Midlands Counties League last season and are currently going great guns. They sit fifth in the table and are unbeaten at home.
Rolls also have an away tie -- this Saturday at Wollaton, who play one level below them and lie third in the NSL’s Senior Division after winning eight of their ten matches.
