Fast emerging as team of the season, Hucknall Rolls Leisure are flying the flag for Dispatch district football in the Notts FA Saturday Senior County Cup.
Rolls are the sole side from the area through to the Third Round (last 16) of the county’s most prestigious non-league competition.
Having knocked out local-derby rivals Bulwell in the opening round, Rolls won 2-1 at Wollaton last Saturday. However, near-neighbours Hucknall Town bowed out in a 2-0 defeat at Kimberley Miners Welfare on Wednesday night.
It’s only the second time in their history that Rolls have reached the last 16, where they will rub shoulders with the elite top-ten ranked clubs in Nottinghamshire, including cup holders Carlton Town.
But in the draw for the Third Round, Rolls have avoided all ten and have been handed an away tie against PMG Cavaliers who, like Wollaton, play a level below them in the Notts Senior League.
The rest of the draw, which has been scheduled for Saturday 29th November, is: Retford United v Selston, Southwell City v Ruddington Village, Arnold Town v Carlton Town, Gedling Miners Welfare v Dunkirk, Clipstone v Clifton All Whites, Basford United v Radford, Rainworth Miners Welfare v Kimberley Miners Welfare.
