Defending champions T8’S were given a nasty shock on the opening day of the Premier Premier Division season in the NOTTS SUNDAY MORNING LEAGUE.
And firing the bullets was well-known Bulwell striker Allan Jeffries for his new club, Gedling Inn.
Jeffries plundered a hat-trick as T8’s suffered a 4-2 defeat against the team who finished third in the table last term.
Another Bulwell player, Jay Knight, was also on target, while both of the Hucknall side’s goals were scored by striker Jack Allen.
T8’s suffered only two losses throughout last season’s title-winning campaign. But manager Reece ‘Raj’ Jackson was not too downhearted by the result. “We had much of the possession throughout, but lacked creativity,” he said. “Unforced errors were our downfall.”

Also in the top flight, GREEN DRAGON started the new campaign with a 2-1 defeat in a tight encounter away to Old Colonial.
The sides finished in the bottom two of the division last season, only to be handed a relegation reprieve.
Dragon took a while to get going but opened the scoring midway through the first half when striker Matt Lucas snapped up the rebound after a well-placed free-kick from 25 yards by captain Matt Sisson had been pushed on to the bar by the ‘keeper.
However, Sisson went from hero to villain in the second half when he gave away a penalty that Jack Smith converted for an equaliser. And moments later, Scott Litchfield knocked home Colonial’s winner when a scuffed cross wrongfooted the defence.
Man-of-the-match Jamie Taylor made some fine saves between the sticks, while winger Danny Humphreys went close to saving a point with a low, drilled shot that shaved the outside of a post.
DRAGON LINE-UP -- Taylor J./ Crowson, Sisson, Neale, Lewis/ Bernard, Haskey, Fletcher, Curtis/ Matthews, Lucas. Subs: Blake, Humphreys, Clarke, Lester.
TWO Hucknall teams, AFC H2O (formerly The Masons) and EMPIRE kicked off the campaign with defeats in Premier Division Two.
H2O lost 3-2 at home to Premium, despite goals from Daniel Poole and Rory Smith, while Empire crashed 5-1 away to new side MIS United, despite a goal from former Hucknall Rolls Leisure man Joe Ashurst.
