A rousing 8-3 victory was just what the doctor ordered for HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-12S WHITE to celebrate a sponsorship deal with a medical supplies firm.

Title-chasing Sports have been kindly backed by LA Medica, who were delighted to hear of the win at Netherfield Colts in the Sunday Second Division of the Young Elizabethan League.

Stunning braces from Connor Smith and man-of-the-match Mitchell West gave Sports a comfortable half-time lead before both players completed their hat-tricks with cool finishes in the second period.

Ben Ward and Harry Warren wrapped up the scoring before Netherfield struck two late consolation goals.

MEANWHILE in the Notts Youth League’s Sunday Second Division, HUCKNALL WARRIORS UNDER-18S extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a 3-3 draw against Inter City.

However, they were disappointed not to take all three points after conceding an equaliser with virtually the last kick of the match thanks to an error.

Warriors had taken the lead in the 30th minute when Joe Cox collected a brilliant pass from Regan Scott to beat the ‘keeper with a low shot.

But in an end-to-end game, Inter not only squeezed home a leveller five minutes later, they also went in front early in the second period.

Man-of-the-match Ash Roberts made it 2-2 with a superb half-volley from the edge of the area, and then Josh Kitchen struck a sweet drive when Alex Cook’s corner was partially cleared.

In the same division, HUCKNALL HARRIER UNDER-18S and HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-18S battled out an enteraining 2-2 draw.

Harrier’s goals were scored by David Buckley and Joe Walker, while Sports replied with a double from substitute Liam Porter. The man-of-the-match awards went to Callum Garfield for Harrier and Ashley Foster for Sports.
