Another batch of excited youngsters has graduated from one of the most successful soccer schools in the Dispatch district.

The Rolls-Royce Leisure soccer school in Hucknall has nurtured hundreds of under-sevens over the years, teaching them the basics of the game.

Now the latest two teams have passed their graduation with flying colours after working hard at weekly sessions to gain the right skills in preparation for their first competitive matches.

Head coach John Cheetham, formerly of Hucknall Town, commented: “Once again, I am pleased with the standard of kids that have graduated and I hope their parents are very proud of them.

“Special thanks must go to the new coaches and to the soccer school’s administration staff for the valuable voluntary work they put in every week without fail.

“I would also like to thank the parents and grandparents who stand, each week, in all weather, watching their children having lots of fun with a football.

“I always know the youngsters are going to have fun by the excited and determined look on their faces.

“Now they have played their first set of friendly matches and they are enjoying their new teams.

“I feel like another flock has fled the nest for another year. We are now working hard with the next lot of kids and coaches ready for next year.”

The soccer school, which is based at the Rolls-Royce Leisure sports ground off Watnall road, now holds its sessions every Sunday from 10 am to 12 midday.

Anyone interested in joining should ring Cheetham on 07920 154129.

The Rolls complex has developed a healthy reputation as a community sporting hub where youngsters from under-sevens to under-16s play football every week from September to May.

Every team has again been sponsored this year by Basford company Elite Blinds, who have generously bought new kits for the kids.
