Launch day at Donington Park

For the second year running local race circuit Donington Park plays host to the ever popular British Touring Car Championship Season Launch including the Official Media Day next week.

From 12.30pm on Tuesday Donington opens its gates to free admission for fans to see the first official test session of the 2014 line up of BTCC cars before the season opener at Brands Hatch in two weeks time.

The 2013 BTCC Champion Andrew Jordon In his Pirtek Racing sponsored Honda Civic will be showing fans how he hopes to carry on in 2014 where he ended last season.

All the competing teams will be present including cars from Honda Team Dynamics, 888 MG, Airwaves Racing/Motorbase Ford Focus’s and Ciceley Racings brand new Mercedes A Class only launched in the last few weeks.

Driver line ups will include Honda’s Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden. MG’s Jason Plato and Exocet Racing’s Rob Austin in an Audi A4.

The British Touring Car Championship is by far the biggest motor racing championship of its kind in the UK and the Media Day last Year attracted nearly 250 media representatives from TV, Radio print and on-line.

The action returns to Donington Park over Easter weekend 19th and 20th April where fans will see three BTCC races on the Sunday with plenty of support race action including the Renault UK Clio Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
