There might have been only two games involving Hucknall sides in the Notts Sunday Morning League last weekend. But they produced no fewer than 27 goals!
Sadly, 13 of those goal ended up in the back of HALF MOON’S net as Norma Hatfield’s side approached the end of a miserable season in the Premier Premier Division with a crushing defeat at the hands of Queen Adelaide.
It was one-way traffic as the home side romped in 13-1 thanks to five goals from Justin Jenkins, three from Dalton Stephens, two from Ryan Enright and one apiece from Ashley Williams, Kieran Miles and Tony Wilson. The sole reply for Moon, who are sure to finish bottom of the table, came from Danny Taylor.
A goal feast of a different kind lit up the Premier First Division contest between AFC H2O and Premium. For they played out a 13-goal thriller that eventually ended in an 8-5 scoreline in favour of the Nottingham-based visitors.
Rory Smith and Luke Kirby netted two goals each for the mid-table Hucknall outfit, and Ashley Dove was also on the scoresheet. But it was still not enough because Omari Sadler, with four, Jamel Russell, with two, Demar Hines and Johnny Greaves pounced at the other end for Premium.
This Sunday sees the crunch derby between BESTWOOD MINERS WELFARE and THE NABB INN in Senior Division Two. Nabb need one point from what is their final match of the campaign to seal promotion.
