Relieved Barflys are back in business

A RARE win for Barflys H2O
A RARE win for Barflys H2O

Never-say-die BARFLYS H2O celebrated only their second victory in more than a year when taking local-derby spoils in Premier Division One of the Notts Sunday Morning League.

Barflys won just once in the whole of last season when they were relegated from the top flight. And they went into the match against fellow Hucknall outfit, THE EMPIRE, with a record over the last 15 months of played 19, lost 16.

But two penalties by Jack Patterson and a goal by Ryan Williams helped them to a 3-2 success to halt the bright start to the campaign made by the hosts. Jake Bennett did give Empire an early lead and Jake Wright later equalised at 2-2 before Patterson’s second spot-kick clinched it.
