MANSFIELD Town begin a tough spell of three away games in eight days tomorrow night when they head for struggling Hyde.

Stags had won four away games on the bounce before last week’s disappointing 2-0 loss at Newport, which was wiped away by a much better display to beat Cambridge 3-1 at home on Saturday to keep themselves in the play-offs hunt.

Manager Paul Cox said: “We are quite high in the table in the current away form guide and, if we are going to be successful we realistically need to be winning at home and picking up at least a point away.

“We have three away games on the trot now, but there is no panic. We are quite capable of grinding out some results away from home.

“I want three wins – it’s as simple as that. Getting them is another matter. If we got three draws – it’s only equivalent to one win. But if we can get three positive results from them, it would put us in a brilliant position.”

Although they have only won once and drawn once in their seven league games since the turn of the year, Hyde’s form has been better and they are 17th, five points clear of the drop zone.

On Saturday they were thumped 4-0 at home to Kidderminster, but Cox added: “Hyde had some great results before the weekend. We had them watched and apparently Saturday was a one-off.

“They have a very good home record and we must go there with a strong mindset.”
