For the first time this season, the entire programme of Sunday football in the Hucknall and Bulwell area was washed out by the weather.
Heavy rain throughout last week and again last Saturday night left all pitches waterlogged, forcing clubs to postpone their scheduled fixtures.
Among the victims was the latest Hucknall derby in the Premier Premier Division of the Notts Sunday Morning League -- GREEN DRAGON versus champions and county cup holders T8’S.
The top-flight matches involving STATION HOTEL (HUCKNALL) and BARFLYS H20 also fell to the weather, as did games lower down the league involving ATHLETICO T8’S, THE EMPIRE, THE NABB INN and BESTWOOD MINERS WELFARE.
In fact, only one game was played in the entire Premier Section of the league. Just seven were played in the Senior Section.
It was a similar story in the Notts Sunday Combination, where the Premier Division games involving the Bulwell trio, EMPIRE, MELLISH and LORD NELSON, were all postponed. Only seven games got the green light.
