Bouncing back from a long break because of bad weather, LINBY RANGERS UNDER-13S sshowed why they are top of Sunday Division 1B of the Young Elizabethan League.

Rangers were ahead from the third minute when Nathan Frith latched on to a through ball to finish calmly -- and they went on to beat Bingham Town Red 3-0.

The other two goals were scored by Trevell Lindo, who headed in a pinpoint cross from Morgan Brough after a well-worked move down the right and struck again in a second half that the locals dominated.

Substitute Jacon Rizdon inspired HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-14S to a crucial 2-1 away win over West Bridgford Saracens in the Sunday First Division of the Young Elizabethan League.

After a goalless first half that Sports dominated, Rizdon went on to open the scoring with a wonderful lob over the ‘keeper.

Five minutes later, Bradley Bowler made it two with a sharp finish and only in the last minute did Saracens bag a lucky consolation goal.

Title-chasing HUCKNALL WARRIORS UNDER-14S battled back from 2-0 and 3-1 down to beat St Anns Sneinton 5-3 in the Sunday Third Division of the Young Elizabethan League.

Warriors looked in big trouble, even though Brandon Jones pulled a goal back just before the break.

But when they conceded a third soon afterwards, they sprang to life and hit top gear for the rest of the game.

Captain Billy Platts fired home one of his trademark free-kicks from 22 yards and after several other chances had been squandered, Sean Bird levelled.

The points were grabbed by two late goals as Owen Taylor-Parrott’s through ball found Jones, whose scuffed shot somehow crept past the ‘keeper, and then Platts’s powerful drive was deflected in.

On-song HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-10S produced football to match the sunny weather, storming to a 5-0 victory over Underwood Villa in Sunday Division 2B of the Young Elizabethan League.

Jake Thorpe and man-of-the-match Malaki Wooldridge gave Sports a two-goal cushion in an end-to-end first half. And the same two players were on target again in the second before Reece Johns completed the rout.

A terrific performance earned high-flying HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-9S WHITE a 3-1 win against Karimia in Sunday Division 2A of the Young Elizabethan League.

Despite conceding early on, Sports played some lovely passing, attacking football and clinched the points with three second-half goals.

Owen ‘Suarez’ Stubbs-Booth equalised when set up by man-of-the-match Jayden Goodman, who then struck twice with cracking shots that gave the Karimia goalie no chance.

Sports sit second in the table with a game in hand.
