Top Hucknall side T8’S face two cup semi-finals inside five days as their hunt for a tremendous treble hots up.
This weekend, they try for the third time to play their Notts FA Sunday Senior County Cup semi against Attenborough Cavaliers, of the Long Eaton League -- after two postponements because of the weather. The winners will meet Newark side RHP Sports and Social in the final.
And then next Thursday, T8’s tackle underdogs Wollaton Pirates in the last four of the NOTTS SUNDAY MORNING LEAGUE’S Premier Section Cup. The second semi is between fellow Premier Division outfits Nuthall and Gedling Inn next month.
Unbeaten T8’s remain favourites for the league title, although they still have nine games to play amid the danger of a fixture backlog.
Another big game this weekend should result in STATION HOTEL (HUCKNALL) clinching the Premier First Division championship and promotion to the top flight.
Having already hammered their closest rivals, Robin Hood, 5-1, two weeks ago, undefeated Station meet them again. Another victory would give them an unassailable lead after the surprise disbandment of another of their challengers, Medz Reds.
Only two games featuring local teams beat the heavy rain last weekend.
In Premier Division Two, PREMIERE TRAVEL were thumped 4-1 by Wolds AFC, despite a goal from Matt Lane.
And in Senior Division Two, THE EMPIRE HUCKNALL brushed aside Eastwood and Kimberley 4-1 thanks to strikes from James Anderson, Dan Barnard, Pete Raynor and Luke Thompson.
