Yet more heavy rain washed away the giantkilling hopes of HUCKNALL ROLLS LEISURE RESERVES for the second week running in the Notts FA Saturday Intermediate County Cup.

Rolls, who are going well in the First Division of the Notts Senior League (NSL), have been given an attractive home tie in the Second Round (last 32) against Cotgrave, who are currently top of the NSL’s top flight.

But the weather has twice forced the postponement of the match after rain waterlogged the Rolls-Royce Leisure Club pitch. The teams hope to make it third time lucky this coming Saturday (kick-off 1.30 pm).

If Reece Jackson’s Hucknall side upset the odds, they will be at home again in Round Three -- this time against Teversal Reserves, of the Central Midlands League.

Meanwhile it is a similar waiting game for HUCKNALL TOWN SUNDAY in the Notts FA Sunday Senior County Cup.

For the last two weekends, their quarter-final away to Notts Sunday Morning League, Premier Premier Division leaders, Trentside, has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. So they hope to beat the weather this Sunday.

The winners will play Nuthall in the February semi-finals, with the other tie between RHP Sports and Social Club (Newark) and Attenborough Cavaliers.
