Giant striker Andy White returned to haunt his former club when scoring the winning goal that dumped HUCKNALL TOWN RESERVES out of the Central Midlands League’s Reserves Cup.
The 33-year-old White, 6’4” tall, played for Town in his younger days before embarking on a professional career that took him to Mansfield Town and Notts County.
He’s now back in the non-league game and turned out for Derby-based side Swanwick Pentrich Road Reserves in a Third Round tie against Town at Watnall Road.
The match seemed to be heading for extra-time until the veteran latched on to a cross by Liam Dolan and drove home off goalkeeper Farren Packard to clinch Swanwick a 2-1 success.
Earlier White had also struck a free-kick against a post before Town snatched the lead when the impressive Ako Abdullah netted from a free-kick.
The Swans were always the better side, though, and levelled on the hour when a speculative 25-yarder from Tom Wilson found its way into the top corner.
