DOMINOES: Leaders beaten again as form dips
HAVE the wheels fallen off at Talk Of The Town?
That’s the hot question of the moment in the HUCKNALL WINTER DOMINOES LEAGUE.
For after surging into a six-point lead and looking certain to be crowned champions, Town have lost their last two fixtures.
The latest defeat was a 5-0 horror-show away to struggling Royal British Legion, who were sitting next to bottom in the table.
Now Town lead by only two points from second-placed Station Hotel (Newstead), who continued their return to form with a 4-1 victory away to Constitutional Club.
The Newstead side leapt above Station Hotel (Hucknall) B, who slipped to a 3-2 defeat at home to Crafty Conny and now share the same number of points as Shamrock, who were 4-1 winners at Bentinck Club.
At the foot of the table, Empire Strikes Back enjoyed rare respite from a traumatic campaign by defeating Little John 3-2 for only their third success in 13 matches.
The week’s remaining game resulted in a 3-2 victory for Bestwood Village Social Club away to lowly George Street B.
