Rolls overcome KMW in cup
HUCKNALL Rolls Royce Leisure were in good form as they overcame Kimberley Miners Welfare 1-0 in the Notts FA Senior Cup.
Rolls played well throughout and won the game thanks to a Jack James strike midway through the first-half.
A fine move saw Andy Start play in Ant Wallis down the right and he advanced before putting in a great cross for James to glance home at the near post.
Man-of-the-match was Ashley Marshall.
Team: Conn, Hulme, Short, Marshall, Sollomon, Brooks, James, Bettridge, Start, Wallis (Rick 70).
Subs not used: Duncan, Bainbridge
In the Notts Intermediate Cup AFC Hucknall Town went down 2-0 to a well-organised West Bridgford side on Saturday.
It could have been different if Kamar Davis had taken a first minute opportunity when a strike either side of the keeper would have given them the lead, however he chose to try and lift the ball over the keeper who with relief caught it at head height.
This was one of four chances spurned during the game by the same player but Town did not deserve to win the tie as they passed poorly and showed little desire.
** AFC Hucknall Town’s game at home to Nottingham United this Saturday will be on Non-League Day.
As a result, a special adult and one child tandem ticket will be available on the gate priced at just £1 to mark the event.
