Rolls rolled over

INCONSISTENCY continues to cost Rolls-Royce Leisure as they went down 3-1 at home to Selston in the Senior Division of the Notts Senior League.

The locals went behind midway through the first half through a penalty needlessly given away by Simon Hulme, before Jack James crashed a volley against the underside of the bar on 32.

Selston doubled their lead on 42 when captain Hackett was left unmarked to power home a header at the back post.

Rolls gave themselves a lifeline straight from the re-start when top scorer Andy Start bagged from an acute angle for 2-1.

Rolls started brighter in the second-half but Selston wrapped up a deserved victory on 68 when their man-of-the-match beat the offside trap and waltzed round a couple of defenders and the keeper to slot home with ease.

Rolls’s man-of-the-match was Jack James, who was up against his former club.
