BULWELL maintained their perfect start to the season with a 4-2 win at FC Cavaliers in the Notts Senior League.

The home side started brightly and went ahead on 12 minutes when a long kick from Martt in the Cavs goal was misjudged by Jay Knight which left Abdullah clean through to open the scoring.

Further sloppy defending was again the main issue with the home side’s second goal on 16 minutes as Abdullah again benefited with a excellent low drive from 20 yards.

Bulwell looked jaded but their first real chance came on 19 with Ryan King seeing his effort go narrowly wide with Martt beaten all ends up.

Connor Carter then had an effort saved and Sam Litchfield should have done better when sent through on goal on 26, but Litchfield made amends four minutes later, heading home a Jamie Moore corner to give the Bulls a lifeline before the break.

The impetus was now with Bulwell and Jake Keetley and Josh Niblett began to pull all the strings in midfield, Niblett finding Carter whose effort was a poor one.

The Bulls began the second-half as they had finished the first with Litchfield netting his second from 12 yards out on 48 after Keetley and King caused havoc.

Carter, Litchfield and King all went close to putting Bulwell in front and Knight found himself through on goal just after the hour mark but excellent defending denied him.

Marek Vipond then replaced Moore and was immediately on hand to feed Litchfield who netted his hat-trick with a thunderbolt into the back of the net.

With only nine minutes remaining a superb ball from captain Dwayne Soar found the lethal Litchfield who found the top corner to round off the scoring.

Bulwell: Wheat, Murdock (Ward 62), Walker, Knigh, Soar, Keetley, King, Niblett, Litchfield (Wilkinson 84), Carter, Moore (Vipond 70). Not used: England
