DELIGHTED pupils and staff at Newstead Primary School have benefited from a Promote Sport in Schools initiative launched in Nottinghamshire by Source Bioscience.

This is an international diagnostic and life sciences business which develop youth through a sports trust.

Along with other schools in the county, Newstead Primary, on Hucknall Road, encouraged by deputy head teacher John Oldfield, made an impressive bid for a free football kit by writing to Source Bioscience’s chairman, Laurie Turnbull and chief executive Nick Ash, who inaugurated the project.

Much to the surprise of pupils and staff, Newstead Primary’s letter was well received and as a result, the school’s players were presented with their new kit at a special assembly by a Source Bioscience representative.

Simon Palmer was invited to address the pupils explaining what his company does.

Mr Oldfield said: “The children are so excited and look great in their new kit.

“We are extremely grateful. It is a great initiative by Source Bioscience.”
