HIGH-flying T8s remain top of the Premier Premier Division of the Notts Sunday Morning League — and remain undefeated — after a deserved point away at league champions Clumber.

T8s were behind after only three minutes when Jack Allen was caught napping and didn’t pick up his runner in the form of Jayford Henry, who glanced a free header passt keeper Jake Pearson.

But T8s soon took command and started creating chances, Danny Hayes went close with a header before Jamie Thomas out wide crossed to find Chay Betteridge, who set himself before smashing into the top corner.

T8s then piled on the pressure for the remaining five minutes of the half, Danny Gamble having an effort cleared off the line and Thomas just heading over.

The second-half was a very tight affair with both teams going for the win but it ended 1-1 as the back lines stood strong.

T8S LINE-UP: Pearson, Hunt, Peberday, D Hayes, Short, Thomas, Patterson, J Allen, Betteridge, Start, Gamble.

DELIGHTED Green Dragon notched up their first win of the season in the top flight when they narrowly beat Carlton Top Spot 3-2 at Titchfield Park.

On a cold day with a very strong wind, Dragon launched the first attacks of the game but were then pinned back by a Top Spot outfit who were more hungry for the ball.

They launched attack after attack which were well dealt with by a solid, busy Dragon defence.

Not afraid to shoot from anywhere, Top Spot’s initial attacking play was rewarded when a shot from about 20 yards out was caught by the wind and dipped just under the crossbar for their first goal, giving Dragon keeper Jamie Taylor no chance.

From then on Dragon started to get into their stride and finished the half the stronger. They were rewarded for their endeavours when a telling run by left midfielder Danny Humphreys and a bullet of a cross ricocheted off a Top Spot player into his own net for the equaliser before half-time.

With the wind in their favour in the second-half, Dragon started brightly but were pegged back again when Top Spot scored with a header despite suspicions of offside.

But once again Dragon heads didn’t drop and they got the deserved equaliser with a slick move as defender Rob Neale picked the ball up on the half way line and after passing the ball out to Humphreys he continued his run and headed the cross from the latter over the keeper for 2-2.

Not satisfied, Dragon pressed for the winner and got when Humphreys provided another excellent ball into the box from a free-kick to find skipper Matt Sisson on hand at the back post to slot the ball home and seal three points.

DRAGON LINE-UP: Taylor, N Sisson, M Sisson, Neale, Crowson, Humphreys, J Matthews, Haskey, Bernard, K Matthews, Lucas. Subs: Blake, Lewis, Maltby.

IN Premier Division One, Station Hotel went three points clear at the top of the league in cavalier fashion with a 6-1 demolition of Nottingham United.

Elliott Christie helped himself to a triple adding to goals from Dean Longdon, Ryan Norris, and Tom Crisp, with Cavan Finch claiming the consolation.

IN Premier Division Two, East Leake Bantams beat The Masons 4-3.

Samuel Dunstan’s hat-trick and Karl Mitchell’s effort proved just enough, Grant Hughes (2) and Ashley Dobb replying.

THE Nabb Inn head Senior Two following their 2-1 win at Carlton Top Spot Reserves, Shane Brown and Damien Larcombe doing the damage for the visitors and Michael Bradley scoring for Top Spot.

In the Notts Sunday Combination, Athletico T8s finally got their season underway with a home defeat to March Hare despite going two up inside ten minutes.

Jamie Brown and Nick Clay put them in control, but after getting level by half-time March Hare scored twice more in the second-half to seal the win.
