A PERFECT Andy Start hat-trick helped T8s advance in the all-England FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup with a 5-2 victory over Magnet Tavern.
It was a high tempo game that saw the Hucknall side take the lead early on, as a superb low cross from Chay Betteridge was neatly turned in by Start with the inside of his left boot, and T8s held the lead until half-time.
T8s flew out the blocks when the second half started and went two up after three minutes after Start blasted home from eight yards after a goal mouth scramble.
The home side had to now take chances to save the game and T8s exploited this by continuing to hit them on the break, Aaron Ryan and Danny Gamble combining with Gamble’s cross headed in by Start for his hat-trick.
There was then a goal area scuffle which resulted in four players seeing red, keeper Jake Pearson and Matt Peberday for T8s and two from the home side.
This didn’t deter T8s who continued to press and it was Jack Allen who scored a fantastic half volley after good work by the hard working Damo Mann and Billy Brooks.
The faultless Ryan then got a well deserved goal, heading home a Jamie Thomas cross.
The home side never gave up and were rewarded with two late goals but the tie was well and truly over.
T8s now play Leicester side Advance Couriers in the next round on November 25.
