COLD and wet weather put paid to the vast majority of last weekend’s fixture list as postponements were widespread across the county.
Both Saturday and Sunday league football were affected, with only two games involving our local sides taking place.
On Saturday, Rolls Leisure were in fine form to overcome bottom-of-the-table side Sandhurst 3-1 away from home in the Notts Senior League Senior Division.
Jack Allen, Matt Rick and Ash Marshall were the players on target for the visitors, with Andy Cameron notching Sandhurst’s only goal.
In the same division, Bulwell were unable to take the opportunity to continue their perfect start to the season as their match at Kimberley Miners Welfare fell victim to the weather.
Hucknall Rolls Leisure Reserves’ match at Radcliffe Reserves in the Intermediate Cup was called off.
In the Central Midlands League, Linby CW’s match at Clifton and AFC Hucknall Town’s home game with Real United were also called off.
In Sunday league action, Plough Barflies also recorded a 3-1 away win as they beat The Crown Inn in the Notts Sunday Morning League Premier Knockout Cup.
But other ties in the same competition fell to the weather, including Green Dragon v Old Colonial and Premiere Travel v Nuthall.
The Premier Division One match between Station Hotel and Medz Reds didn’t get started, nor did The Masons v Premium in Division Two.
The Empire’s home game with Sporting was postponed in Senior Division Two.
