OFFICIALS have confirmed that Flying Bedstead have become the second side to drop out of the HUCKNALL EPA POOL LEAGUE this season.
The side were on their last legs after failing to turn up for three matches in succession — handing 8-0 walkover victories to their prospective opponents.
As expected, at last Sunday’s meeting a decision was rubberstamped that Bedstead would no longer compete.
It now means the secretary must turn to the calculator in a bid to adjust the table and rankings for the remaining outfits.
Back to the business that really matters — play on the baize — and there were shock defeats for both Spot On Low-C and leaders Royal British Legion B.
The reverse for Legion B hurt all the more because it came against their stablemates, Royal British Legion A, to the tune of 5-3.
What’s more, it means Legion A are now just one point behind in second with a game in hand on the leaders.
Spot missed the chance to jump to the top of the table when they went down 5-3 against Liberal despite victories for Dean Britton, Ryan Norris and Scott Oxford.
Elsewhere, The Dragon handed a 6-2 hammering to Little John secured by a run of five wins in a row.
Empire A beat Bestwood Village Social Club 5-3 and Green Dragon enjoyed the same margin of victory over struggling Chequers.
