A HUCKNALL-based boxing-promotions firm is hoping that a forthcoming charity night will prove a knockout success.
The Blue Corner company is run by Spencer Morgan from his home on Church Lane.
The special event will take place at the Forum, near the Cornerhouse Leisure and Entertainment Complex in Nottingham city centre.
Spencer said: “Our aim is to showcase a fun evening by re-creating that Las Vegas feel from the days of Mohammed Ali and Joe Frazier.
“This means letting the boxers walk out to their favourite record, cheered on by hundreds of people, with ring girls and an MC calling calling them into the ring.
The company is offering free training twice a week with a fully registered boxing coach and the proposed venue is the Vanquish Centre off Watnall Road, Hucknall.
“The club will provide a fully comprehensive training programme and is open to anybody over 18, in good health and relatively fit,” said Spencer.
“In return for the coaching, we are looking for those taking up the offer to find sponsorship to support our nominated charity, Help For Heroes, which assists injured British ex-service men and women.”
Spencer stresses that Blue Corner is keen to showcase local talent and would welcome an opportunity to meet with interested people and discuss its objectives.
