EVER-improving BULWELL made it 16 points from their last 18 and leapt into the top four of the Notts Senior League’s Senior Division.
Against a weak Keyworth United side, The Bulls cruised to a 3-0 victory with the greatest of ease.
The only surprise was that they didn’t score more goals because, from the off, Keyworth had no answer to the locals’ attacking force.
As chances were created at will, it looked set to be a cricket score when Ryan King gave them the lead in the 18th minute with a cute finish from the edge of the area into the top corner, giving the ‘keeper no chance.
Centre-forward John Manders then had a couple of headers well saved. And although the home side missed a golden opportunity to level just before the break, Bulwell resumed command in the second half.
Michael Banister found himself on the end of many of the openings, but couldn’t convert, and as The Bulls piled on the pressure, they had three efforts cleared off the line in one attack.
Finally, they doubled their lead when top scorer Allan Jeffries, who had a quiet game by his standards, saw a tame shot sneak through the goalie’s fingers.
If that was lucky, substitute Connor Carter was unlucky when his shot bounced out off the inside of a post.
But Bulwell deservedly bagged another goal when Jeffries rifled home after fine work by two of the other subs, Jamie Carter and Dean Spencer.
