BULWELL returned to Notts Senior League, Senior Division action after a three-week break with a 3-0 win over Ruddington Village.

The Bulls nearly fell behind within two minutes when Jay Knight misjudged a long ball to leave McMorran through on goal, but the striker hit the post after beating keeper Ian Wheat.

Bulwell’s Scott Litchfield was next to hit the woodwork on four minutes with Josh Niblett failing to find the back of the net on the rebound.

The visitors should have opened the scoring on 11 when Wheat’s very poor clearance fell to McMorran again 16 yards out only for him to waste the chance, Wheat making amends with a fine save.

The Bulls finally got into their stride and began to produce some flowing football with man-of-the-match Ryan King causing the problems down the left, and Niblett then having his effort saved by the impressive Osbourne, who also managed to pull off a point blank save from a King header on the rebound.

Allan Jeffries also went close on the half hour when through on goal only to be denied again by the keeper.

Ruddington stood firm but couldn’t deny Chris Murdock the opener with a superb low drive from 20 yards.

Litchfield, Jeffries and Knight all went close to adding to the scoreline early in the second-half, before Jamie Moore then produced a bit of magic on the hour mark only to see his good work go to waste with Jeffries heading over the bar.

The Bulls added a second on 72 minutes with Jeffries converting from an acute angle after good work by Litchfield.

McMorran missed another good chance for Ruddington before Litchfield added the third on 90 minutes, heading home a Dave McCaughey corner from close range.
