NOTTINGHAM Forest legend Kenny Burns is hoping to score a hit with the crowd when he takes to the stage for a sportsman’s evening in Bestwood Village later this month.

Burns (pictured) was one of the defensive rocks on which Brian Clough built the Reds side that won the league championship in 1978 and then back-to-back European Cups in 1979 and 1980.

The hardman Scot, who earned 20 caps for his national side, will be on hand to talk about those Forest halcyon days at the Bestwood Village Social Club on Thursday October 27.

He will also chat about his time with other big-name clubs, such as Leeds United, who bought him for £400,000 in 1981, and Birmingham City.

Tickets, which are still available, cost just £10, which includes food and entry into a raffle.
