IN AN astonishing turnaround, reigning champions Talk Of The Town are now in the box seat to defend their title in the HUCKNALL SUMMER DOMINOES LEAGUE.
Several weeks ago, Town were out of the picture after a disastrous start to their campaign.
But now they are on top — albeit on leg-difference — after whitewashing one-time leaders Crafty Conny 5-0.
Town were also given a leg-up after the other team who have recently headed the table, Bestwood Village Social Club (VSC), went down 3-2 at home to Conny A.
Town, Bestwood VSC and Crafty are now all tied on 14 points, with three other teams a further two points back.
They are George Street Working Men’s Club B, who beat Bentinck Club 4-1, and Station Hotel (Hucknall) B And Shamrock, who played one another in the latest fixtures with the latter coming through 3-2 winners.
In the final match of the week, revived Station PH, who hadn’t won any of their first nine matches, now have two wins on the spin after beating Royal British Legion 3-2.
