THE AMAZING finale to the HUCKNALL WINTER DOMINOES LEAGUE season threw up yet more cock-ups and slip-ups in the latest round of matches.

Hot on the heels of a damaging defeat for long-time leaders Talk Of The Town the previous week, they were at it again, sliding to a 4-1 reverse at Bestwood Village Social Club.

Second-placed Station Hotel (Newstead) also suffered their second successive setback, losing 4-1 at home to Shamrock.

So now, with only two games to play, just two points separate the leading four sides, who include fast-finishing former champions Shamrock.

The title race might yet be decided on leg-difference. As things stand, Town’s is only plus-eight but Shamrock’s is plus-20, Newstead’s is plus-14 and Crafty Conny, who sneaked into third place with a 3-2 win at George Street B, have a leg-difference of plus-17.

Other results included a second win on the spin for strugglers Empire Strikes Back, which enabled them to swap places at the bottom with their 4-1 victims, Royal British Legion. Station Hotel (Hucknall) B recovered from defeat against Empire the previous week to beat Bentinck Club 3-2, while Little John triumphed 3-2 at Constitutional Club A.
