DOMINOES: Night of tense knocking in series of tight matches

ALL bar one of the latest round of games in the HUCKNALL WINTER DOMINOES LEAGUE finished 3-2 after a night of tense knocking.

They included a narrow 14th victory from 17 games this term for leaders Talk Of the Town, who edged out struggling Little John.

With five matches to play, ‘The Shed’ continue to head the table by four points from Station Hotel (Newstead), who scrambled home by the same 3-2 margin away to bottom team Empire Strikes Back.

The title is now a two-horse race after defeat for third-placed Crafty Conny, at home to Shamrock.

Other 3-2 wins were recorded by Bestwood Village Social Club, at next-to-bottom Royal British Legion, and by Station Hotel (Hucknall) B, at home to George Street B.

The remaining fixture of the week resulted in a 4-1 triumph for Constitutional Club A on a trip to Bentinck Club, who failed to maintain their form of the previous week when they won 3-2 at George Street B, contrary to the result that was originally given.
