THE TOP two teams in the HUCKNALL SUMMER DOMINOES LEAGUE suffered surprise defeats in the latest round of fixtures.
One-time leaders Crafty Conny went down 3-2 at the hands of Station Hotel (Hucknall) B.
It opened the door for top dogs Bestwood Village Social Club to earn some daylight between themselves and the chasing pack.
But they squandered a golden opportunity as they were left red-faced by a 3-2 reverse inflicted by struggling Bentinck Club.
Both Bestwood and Conny remain deadlocked on the same number of points and are only separated on leg-difference.
Just two points further back are defending champions Talk Of The Town, who could yet have a big say in the title after recovering from a dire start to the campaign. In their latest outing, they overcame George Street Working Men’s Club B 3-2.
It was a red-letter day for bottom-of-the-table Station PH, who finally recorded their first win of the season, at the tenth attempt, in beating Conny A 3-2. In the final fixture of the week, Royal British Legion saw off Conny A 3-2.
