A comfortable win for Steve Knighton got the new fishing season under way for HUCKNALL TOWN ANGLING CLUB last Sunday.
Using long pole and meat to take carp and barbel to 4lb, Knighton caught steadily throughout the match, finishing with 74lb 8oz.
Next peg to the winner was Chris Porter, who fished in a similar style to finish second with a mixed bag of carp, barbel and silvers that weighed in at 52lb 1oz. Other returns were:
Craig Akin 37-12, Russ Tideswell 36-12, Baz Blewitt 35-8, Mark Saunders 33-7, Reece Akin 31-10, Alan Lucas 28-12, Tony Beastall 15-11, Kev Blewitt 10-13 and Terry Tideswell 5-13.
The club’s next match is at the Peacock Lake in Gunthorpe on Sunday 19th April.
