Forest legends on hand for charity

LEGENDS from Nottingham Forest’s past will grace the turf at Hucknall Town’s Watnall Road ground for an eyecatching charity football match next Wednesday (July 25).

The likes of ex-England internationals Des Walker and Steve Hodge will be part of a Nottingham Forest Legends squad that will take on Hucknall Town AFC.

Proceeds will be in aid of the When You Wish Upon A Star charity, which makes the dreams of seriously and terminally-ill children come true.

Spectators are being urged to flock to the ground for an excellent night of football and to show ther support for the Nottingham-based charity which is famed for sending a group of children every year to Lapland at Christmas to meet Santa.

Other big names set to appear for The Reds include Ian Woan, Nigel Jemson, David Johnson, who had a brief spell at Hucknall Town; Jason Lee, Bryn Gunn, Gary Mills and Town’s former coach, Craig Armstrong.

The match kicks off at 7.30 pm with tickets just £3 for adults and £2 for concessions. The main sponsor is the Hucknall Empire pub and restaurant off Beardall Street.
