FRUSTRATION was the overwhelming emotion despite Hucknall Town grabbing their first point of 2011.

For The Yellows came away from Mickleover Sports in the Premier Division of the Evo-Stik League knowing they should have taken with them all three points.

Tyeisse ‘TJ’ Nightingale — last season’s top scorer — netted his first goal since finally securing a return to Watnall Road. But Town were held to a 1-1 draw in Derbyshire despite dominating large chunks of the clash.

What’s more, Mickleover earned a share of the points thanks to an equalising goal from former Yellows favourite Eric Graves on the stroke of half-time.

Town bossed possession for the majority of the game on a boggy mudbath of a pitch. But like many times already this season, they failed to convert that possession into goals.

The point saw Town drop to 13th place in the table and pushed Mickleover into the relegation zone.

Yellows boss Tommy Brookbanks made one change from the side that turned out against Buxton in a match that was abandoned after 63 minutes because of floodlight failure. Anthony Griffith Junior replaced Sam Clare, while Dean Gent was moved to left-back.

Nightingale, who earlier rolled a shot just past a post, gave Town the lead in the 36th minute. He reacted quickest to slot home after his strike partner, Tris Whitman ,had seen a shot parried by ‘keeper Damian Clarke

But in first half injury-time, Town were hit by a sucker punch as the unmarked Graves fired neatly across ‘keeper Ross Whalin to level.

The Yellows lost captain Grant Brindley to injury seven minutes into the second half. He was replaced in the heart of defence by Wayne Diuk.

But Town were unruffled and continued to play the better football.

The closest they came to a winner was when Griffith Junior, who terrorised Mickleover all afternoon, broke down the right and crossed for substitute Steve Chaplin to connect with a diving header that unfortunately went straight into the arms of Clarke.
