Gymnastics superstar sisters Becky and Ellie Downie, of Hucknall, are heading to Sofia aiming to conquer Europe.
Both Becky (22) and 14-year-old Ellie have been chosen for the British squad at the European Gymnastics Championships to be held in Bulgaria from Monday until Sunday 25th May.
And they hope it’s the first step towards them competing together at the next Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016.
Becky is part of the five-strong senior women’s team, while Ellie is in a junior team hoping to improve on an impressive fourth-place finish at the championships two years ago.
The sisters, who live on Poppy Mews, off Nottingham Road, are members of the Notts Gymnastics Academy and coached by Claire Starkey.
Ellie, who won a gold medal, two silvers and a bronze at the British Championships last year, picked up a minor knee-injury which forced her to pull out of the 2014 equivalent last month.
But she did win a silver and a bronze at the English Championships in March and also shone in an international friendly in Germany, helping the GB junior team to second place.
Becky is riding the crest of a wave at the moment after finishing second overall in the British Championships, missing out on gold by just 0.4 of a point behind Rebecca Tunney, of Liverpool.
She also took gold on the beam and silver on the uneven bars, and then helped the senior team beat Germany and Spain in that friendly.
Starkey reckons Becky is now in the best shape of her life after bouncing back from the disappointment of being controversially left out of the British team for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
