TWO girl gymnasts from Hucknall are jumping for joy — thanks to a town-centre charity shop.

Katy Bramley and Ellie Downie are among 15 girls who will be travelling with their coaches to compete in the USA.

Hope Charitique, of High Street, has given £250 to the Notts Gymnastic Academy to cover Katy and Ellie’s travel costs and entrance fees for the event.

The charity gives a percentage of the shop profits to worthy causes and it says it is delighted to start the year with this donation. Despite a tough time for retailers, it has enjoyed good sales over the past year and thanks its customers.

Hope Charitique is run by volunteers, mostly members of the Crossroads Church, which meets at St John’s Community Hall on Nottingham Road, Hucknall.
