An 11-year-old girl from a Hucknall club has retained both her titles at the Archery GB National Junior Championships.

Jenny Bryan, who is a member of the Bowmen Of Sherwood club based at the Rolls-Royce Leisure Club off Watnall Road, took the championships, held at Lilleshall in Shropshire, by storm.

Last year, she won both the under-12 compound bow titles. And this year, she repeated the feat, although she did have to share one of them.

On the Saturday, Jenny retained her FITA Metric Five trophy. And 24 hours later, she fought out a terrific battle with Brody Brownhills in the Bristol Five, only missing the central gold bullseye with 11 of her 144 shots. In the end, nothing could split the pair.

Jenny, who lives at Nuncargate, even landed a third trophy when she helped the East Midlands junior ladies squad take the regional team title, which is based on the aggregate scores of the three members.

The other two in the team were Mia Agar, who also enjoyed a superb weekend, and Hollie Smith, who did so well that she broke a natiinal record on the Sunday of the championships, scoring 144 out of 144 in the gold.

The popular and successful Bowmen club at Rolls has been going sin ce 1956, More than 70 members shoot throughout the year.
