Returning to form with a bang, HUCKNALL FALCON missed out on third place by just one point in the latest Notts ASA Stage Two Gala.
In the six-team gala, staged at the Lammas Leisure Centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Falcon amassed 160 points after three victories, eight second places and several personal-best (PB) times.
Commented the club’s head coach Ian Melvin: “There were some really good performances from all involved.”
The Falcon winners were Maje Felten in the 14-and-under girls’ 50m backstroke, Ryan Patel in the ten-and-under boys’ 50m breaststroke and the boys’ open 4X50m medley relay team of Sam Murden, James Terry, Kyle Raison and senior boys’ captain Calum Murray.
The individual runners-up spots were secured by Benjamin Davies (ten-and-under boys’ 50m freestyle), Calum Murray (boys’ open 50m butterfly), Kyle Raison (14-and-under boys’ 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle), Archie Penlington (14-and-under boys’ 50m breaststroke) and junior girls’ captain Elise Connor (12-and-under girls’ 50m freestyle).
On top of this, two relay teams also finished second. They were the 14-and-under girls’ 4X50m medley squad of Maje Felten, Emma Hutson, Sophie Melvin and Ellie-May Gunn and the 12-and-under boys’ 4X50m medley squad of Benjamin Davies, Adam Webber, George Webster and junior boys’ captain Harvey Green.
The PBs were clocked by Harvey Green, Emma Hutson, Sophie Melvin, George Webster, Elise Connor, Ryan Patel, Olivia Murphy, Ellie Barker, Lianna Townsend, Tara Connor and James Terry.
RESULT -- Worksop 246 points, Carlton Forum 197, Newark 161, FALCON 160, Retford 150, Chesterfield 103.
