JUDO: Fighters make the grade

THE RENOWNED Hucknall-based EDGEWOOD JUDO CLUB are celebrating after 34 of their judokas landed new promotions at a recent grading event.

The hard-working members were put through their paces at a British Judo Association (BJA) grading at their club at Edgewood Primary School.

The successful judokas were: Jess Hill 2nd kyu (senior blue belt); Mathew Turnbull 3rd Kyu (senior green belt); James Heathcote 8th mon (orange belt and two tags); Daniel Khiari, Harry Shotton and Oskar Wrzesniewski 7th mon (orange belt and one tag); Molly Hill 6th mon (yellow belt and three tags); Ryan Bell, Charlotte Burman, Curtis Flint, Molly Pullen, Luke Sanders and Benjamin Watkin 5th mon (yellow belt and one tag); Joseph Allsop, Ethan Gascoigne and Harry Hibbert 4th mon (yellow belt and one tag); Joseph Alitt, Erin Brough, Oscar Green, Nathan Henshaw, Arron Sloat and Katie Williams 3rd mon (red belt and three tags); Kye Buckley, Benjamin Dodds, Joseph Dodds, Holly Farbrother, Aaron Rogers and Callum Smoczyk 2nd mon (red belt and two tags); Maisy Barnes, Jamie Clews, Heather Daniels, Jessica Daniels, Ethan Hunt and Sophie Williams 1st mon (red belt and one tag).
