Knighton’s huge haul downs rivals

A WHOPPING weight of 94lb 14oz had Steve Knighton dancing on the lake side as he stormed to victory in HUCKNALL TOWN ANGLING CLUB’S latest Sunday match.

Competing on Trotters Lake at Holly Farm Fishery at Ashby Magna, Leiscestershire, Knighton was head and shoulders above the rest of his rivals.

The margin of victory was a staggering 72lbs between him and second-placed Barrie Robinson (20-8).

The other weights recorded were: Dave Wright 20-9, Barry Blewitt 18-12, Colin Robinson 11-12, Derek Alcock 8-0 and Mick Stanley 1-6.

The club’s next match is on Sunday on the Railway Lake at Aldercar Fishery, Aldercar, Nottinghamshire.

PROLIFIC fisherman Arthur Daws was once again top of the pile for HUCKNALL ANGLERS on New Canal at Hemington Fishery in Derbyshire.unday at the Beechwood Fishery, Elvaston.

Daws recorded a bag weighing exaclty 69lb to take the honours from second-placed Ray Pickin (59-6).

Other weights recorded were: Trev Tideswell 33-0, Brian Cross 31-3, Brad Livock 24-5, Tom Bakewell 23-2, Derek Brough 21-11, Rob Daws 19-0, Tony Beastall 13-0, Dave Clarke 10-6, Dennis Hall 7-6, Pat Hall 7-6, Ken Shaw 4-3.

Russ Tideswell and Chris Porter did not test the scales.

The club’s next match is on Sunday at Elvaston in Derbyshire.
