The two Royal British Legion teams continue to call the tune at the top of the HUCKNALL EPA POOL LEAGUE after the fourth round of matches in the new season.

Both boast 100% records after Legion A won 6-2 at Green Dragon and Legion B defeated Chequers 5-3 at home.

The A team were indebted to Robbie Roylance, Michael Holmes-Parker, Steve Wood, Curly Johnstone, Dave Wainwright and the pairing of Mick Fowkes and Wood for their success, while the B team ook five of the first six legs in the hands of Colin Draycott, Geoff Taylor, John Toulson and the partnerships of Draycott and Dean Dymock and Taylor and Mark Hardstaff.

Sharing third spot in the table are Harrier H2O, who hammered Bestwood Village Social Club 7-1, and Yew Tree, who shaded Liberal Club 5-3.

H2O were five up in next to no time, thanks to Tony Flanagan, Dan Carp and the duo of Dave Ellis and Martin Saxton, who were successful on singles and pairs. While Yew Tree had their match won by the sixth leg, with Adam Stevenson, Lee Breedon and the pairings of Karl Jones and Dion Nangle and Ian Wikeley and Wayne Betteridge among their winners.

The week’s remaining fixtures resulted in another defeat for defending champions Station Hotel B -- this time 6-2 at Empire -- and a 4-4 draw between Station Hotel A and The Dragon.

William Pates, Shaun Bettridge and James Bettridge were all victorious on singles and pairs for Empire, for whom Conor Parkin sealed their first win of the campaign on leg seven.

Station A led 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and 4-3 but were pegged back every time by determined Dragon, for whom Steve McIntyre and Shane Wood wwere victorous on singles and pairs.
