Leaders Eckington maintain a healthy 14-point lead at the top of the Mansfield and District Sunday League’s Premier Section, even though they didn’t play in the latest round of matches.

However, the gap was closed by the other three sides in the title race -- Grassmoor, Hucknall and Cuckney -- all of whom enjoyed a successful day.

Grassmoor licked Farnsfield by nine wickets thanks largely to a fine all-round performance by Chris Fletcher, who scored a half-century and took three wickets. Hucknall’s Robin Maxwell plundered a century to help his side to a winning draw in a run-packed match against Anston, while Cuckney piled up the runs to thump bottom-of-the-table Teversal.

In Section One, Parkhead top the table by 39 points after a surprise defeat for second-placed Handsworth WMC.
