TO BIG moves were made this week while the leaders continued about their unbeaten business in the HUCKNALL EPA POOL LEAGUE.
At the top of the table, Empire A recorded the biggest win of the week as they smashed Station Hotel (Hucknall) B 7-1 to move up into third position in the table.
The likes of Rob Roylance, Michael Holmes-Parker and Tony Dobb were all in winning form to help their side leapfrog Liberal Club, who suffered their second defeat of the campaign when going down 5-3 against The Dragon.
Liberal failed to recover from a diastrous start when losing four of the opening five frames.
The other big leap of the week was made by Yew Tree, who registered their first win of the season with a 5-3 victory at Little John.
With the scores deadlocked at 3-3, Rick Hyslop produced an eight-ball clearance and Lee Burton won the final frame for Tree.
But for the leaders, top dogs Royal British Legion B and second-placed Spot-On Low C, maintained their usual service with wins.
On the face of it Lgion B’s encounter was a tough one as they saw off Harrier 5-3. But the points were in the bag as Legion took the first five frames.
As for Spot, they were always in control as they easily beat Chequers 6-2.
Rock-bottom Flying Bedstead are two points adrift of safety after losing out 6-2 at the hands of Green Dragon, who reeled off the first four frames to put their opponents firmly on the back foot.
