Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Chairman Peter Wright has announced a pre-tax surplus of £489,666 for the year to 30th September 2013.

The Club increased its turnover to £12,253,585 off the back of a sold out Investec Ashes Test, significant increases in domestic attendances and a healthy return from hospitality and catering.

Home fixtures in the quarter-finals of the Friends Life t20 and the team’s success in winning the Yorkshire Bank 40 Trophy also contributed to the results.

“We can reflect on an excellent year in which we were able to combine on-field success, off-field profitability and a commitment to our community,” said Peter.

“Crucially, we enjoyed five days of sold-out Test cricket which demonstrates the importance of retaining our status as a leading international cricket venue.

“There is a cautionary note here in that these results are underpinned by a five year cycle of International matches and we are budgeting for a significant loss in 2016 when there will be no Test Match at Trent Bridge.

“It is vital that we continue to make prudent investments in our team and our venue to ensure that we are well placed to continue to compete for domestic trophies and stage the most prestigious international matches.”

Peter will join Chief Executive Lisa Pursehouse and Treasurer Ray Dawson in making detailed presentations to members at the Club’s Annual General Meeting on Monday 24th February.
