HUCKNALL Rolls-Royce Leisure were left frustrated with a 2-2 draw on Saturday as they hosted Keyworth United in the Senior Division of the Notts Senior League.
It was a much-improved performance from Rolls but they were left bitterly disappointed to only get a point, especially as Keyworth played 25 minutes with ten men and the last couple with nine.
A sluggish start saw Rolls go behind early again, this time in the sixth minute when a corner cleared to the edge of the box wasn’t closed down quickly enough and the winger smashed home a great shot into the roof of the net.
Rolls equalised midway through the half when a flowing move down the left saw Andy Start pull a lovely ball back for Ant Wallis to stroke home first time with his left foot.
Rolls dominated the second-half, with Adam Solloman especially prominent as he won all of his challenges and used the ball intelligently.
The hosts took a deserved lead midway through the half, just after the Keyworth forward had been sent off following an altercation with a team-mate.
A Solloman corner from the left was toed towards goal by Start and strike partner Chay Bettridge was on hand to smash home.
It should have been plain sailing then but as so often happens the side with ten men raised their game and the side with 11 slackend off.
Keyworth pressed and were rewarded with five minutes left when a half cleared corner dropped to an unmarked player and he slid home at the far post.
Keyworth then had another player sent off in the final minute for abusive language towards the referee’s assistant.
Man-of-the-match went to Adam Solloman.
